Our Maintenance staff is currently in the process of re-building the face of the bunker in front of #13 green. Many, many years of sand being thrown up on top of the bunker has raised the level of the bunker and has also softened the top edge to the point where it is difficult to see where the edge of the bunker meets the grass. We are lowering the face down to its original height, sharpening the edge so we can see where the bunker edge meets the grass area on top, and then re-sodding the area where sand was removed. It will be much more playable when completed, and will look better as well! Last year we did the same to bunkers in the front of the greens on #12 and #16.
