This was an 18-hole qualifying round to gain entry into the national U.S. Junior Amateur being played at Oakland Hills Country Club in Michigan (July 22-27). Indian Peaks was one of many qualifying sites all over the U.S. We had 84 players competing for 4 spots, in addition to 2 alternates.
Many of the qualifiers were from right here in Colorado, but we also had competitors from Missouri, New Mexico, Texas, Georgia, Kansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, as well as one player from England and two players from China.
The low qualifier was Jack Brayman (Erie, Colorado) with a 5-under par round of 67. The second low qualifier was Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Oklahoma) with a score of 69. We then had a 6-man playoff for the final two spots at a score of 70.
